ibaPDA - PDA2020-06

ibaPDA software release version v7.2.0.

What’s new in this version?

Changed system requirements

The operating system Windows 2008 Server (x86) is no longer supported.

ibaPDA v7.2.0 now requires to have .NET framework 4.8 installed.

New available interfaces

The new SQL interface gives you read and write access to databases. With user-specific SQL queries you can read data from databases and map the results into signals which then can be used in the usual way for visualization, recording etc. within ibaPDA. Writing is also possible by user-specific SQL commands. In both SQL queries and commands you can use parameters as placeholders and dynamically paste signal values upon execution. The execution can be done cyclically or triggered.
The database types Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and SAP HANA are supported and licensed separately (ibaPDA-Interface-Oracle/SQL-Server/PostgreSQL/MySQL/SAP-HANA , 31.001113/4/5/6/7). 8 modules can be used with each license whereat one SQL statement can be configured in each module. The number of modules can be increased by adding one or more one-step-up licenses (max. 32 modules).

The new DGM200E interface connects to the new DGM200-E gateway device provided by GE Power Conversion. The DGM200-E is connected to the fiber-optic based CC100 communication network on the one side and channels this link to Ethernet on the other side. This way you are able to connect to the CC100 network of the HPCi automation system via standard Ethernet cards in your ibaPDA system. With this interface in ibaPDA four network links to different DGM200-E devices can be used (ibaPDA-Interface-HPCI-DGM200E, 31.001009). The HPCi request function can also be used in combination with this interface.

ibaPDA can now record sound from an audio device (e.g. USB microphone) connected to the ibaPDA server PC (ibaPDA-Interface-Audio, 31.001101). The sound channel is recorded as analog signal and can be replayed using the Audio player function in ibaAnalyzer.

Main new features and improvements

The existing DB/Cloud timebased data store now supports many more database types. Identical to the SQL interface Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and SAP HANA can be used. The DB/Cloud data store is used to write signals as time series data into a DB table. The table is created by ibaPDA with a layout that is determined by the settings of the data store profile used in the data store. With ibaAnalyzer v7.2.0 it will be possible to read the signal data via the SQL trend query function. With ibaDaVIS v2.7.0 it will be possible to visualize the signal data as well. As for all streaming data stores the licensing is done per number of signals written without limitation of the number of used data stores. The database types are licensed separately (ibaPDA-Data-Store-Oracle-64/256/1024, 30.671020/1/2 || ibaPDA-Data-Store-SQL-Server-64/256/1024, 30.671030/1/2 || ibaPDA-Data-Store-PostgreSQL-64/256/1024, 30.671040/1/2 || ibaPDA-Data-Store-MySQL-64/256/1024, 30.671050/1/2 || ibaPDA-Data-Store-SAP-HANA-64/256/1024, 30.670141/2/3).

The MQTT timebased data store now offers the possibility to use a file-based data buffering in case the connection to the broker is lost. This way a large amount of data can be buffered for long time ranges.

A new trigger type is available for the Kafka/MQTT/MindSphere timebased data store: The trigger “One sample on change…” allows you to choose one signal which is monitored for value changes. Each time the value changes one record is written by the data store.

For anomaly detection in cyclic and rotating processes the new add on ibaInCycle (ibaInCycle, 30.681215) is introduced. Any signal with repeating cyclic behavior can be monitored with ibaInCycle. Two module types can be used: The expert module offers an individual analysis of the cycles. The auto adapting module provides a self-learning functionality taking into account process conditions. For visualizing the results the new Cycle view and Circle view are available.

Various new features are available in ibaQPanel: E.g. for the button and label control new settings like border size, border color, transparent background etc. have been added. The file picker is replaced by a file selector with extended functionality and in the various trend graphs the signal visibility can be controlled by a digital signal.

A decoder module was added for our EtherCAT bus monitor ibaBM-eCAT. This module type is useful when you want to record a large number of digital signals that are arranged in signals of the data type WORD.

The ibaPDA installer can now automatically search for dongle license updates. When activating this option in the installer you can specify a directory which is checked for license updates belonging to your dongle number during the installation. This way license and version updates can be done in one step without additional down times of ibaPDA.

Several features have been added to the OPC UA client interface and the OPC UA server. The most mentionable is the support for user defined information models. If the standard OPC UA symbol tree provided by ibaPDA is not sufficient, you can import your own OPC UA information model and map ibaPDA signals into it.

It is now possible to change the language of the ibaPDA service via the ibaPDA server status application. Before the language was always determined by the regional settings of the ibaPDA server PC.

Starting with ibaPDA v7.2.0 there will no longer be a separate Language Pack available. Now all language resources are integrated in the regular ibaPDA installer. Older language packs that might be installed on your PC are automatically uninstalled.
