ibaDaVIS - DAV2023-02

ibaDaVIS version v3.0

What’s new in this version?

New Features and Improvements

In order to get more information from your existing data and enable better analysis, virtual signal are now also available in ibaDaVIS. In this new version, functions to compare signals or calculate new virtual signals are integrated. The configured virtual signals can be displayed together with measurement data in display tiles such as line diagrams, XY diagrams or gauge instruments. When configuring the scaling for the y axis or the color axis of any heatmap, virtual signals can be applied for scaling thus supporting dynamic scaling.

Tile specific New Features

Bar Chart: The bar chart supports grouping of values over time based on defined time spans. With ibaDaVIS v3 you can group the values per year, per month, per day or on an hourly basis manually.

Pie Chart: The colors for the pie chart segments can now be configured manually.

Gauge Chart: The style of the gauge chart has been improved. The configured colored value ranges are visualized as color bars and thus improve the visual impression for the operator, since the current value is displayed in the possible value range. Virtual signals can be used for scaling or the possible value range.

Heatmap Chart: The coloring options of the heatmap have been extended. Up to 20 value ranges can now be configured individually. The transitions between the color ranges can be smoothened and the displayed range can be taken over from signals of the data source or computed from virtual signals. Heatmaps can be displayed when the data is read from DB files or the data is provided as ibaAnalyzer DB table schema.

Grid: The tile type “Grid” has been renamed and is now available as “Value display”.

For tiles displaying DAT file data the signal selection tree has been extended. It is now possible to display the signals in linear order in addition to module or group based order. Also signal comments can be visualized directly at the signal tree. The data from the records of the related data base table are now displayed as selectable values below the common DAT file signals at the signal tree. Values from the database table can be added to the selected DAT file signals in a line chart and they are treated as common constant signals in the matter of scaling and color setup.

Usability Improvements

A configured tile can be changed to another tile type using the edit dialog. This reduces configuration effort when creating new dashboards or tiles.

In the signal tree, a color field has been added for the selected signals showing the currently configured color of the displayed series in the chart.

The workflow towards ibaAnalyzer has been enhanced. Before several DAT files are downloaded at once in ibaDaVIS, the file opening condition for ibaAnalyzer is interactively clarified. The property to open the downloaded files in ibaAnalyzer in stacked or appended mode is defined by the user before the download is started.

The automatic zoom function for DAT file signals on the basis of configured events is also possible in the same form based on digital signals. Existing configured events are converted into virtual functions and can still be used.

Installer-related Improvements

The installer includes .Net Framework 6; separate installation of other .Net Framework versions is not necessary.

The installer is available in multiple languages and automatically displays the installation instructions in Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian or Spanish depending on the operating system language. If the operating system is not installed in one of these languages, the installation instructions are displayed in English.

During the installation of ibaDaVIS, a desktop shortcut can be created to open ibaDaVIS using the standard web browser.
