What’s new in these versions?
To run ibaHD-Server v3.5.x the EUP date of 2025-09-23 or later is needed.
New Features
- The integrated email client in the ibaHD-Server supports the OAuth2 procedure for Microsoft Exchange Online as the successor to basic access authentication.
- A new user right for updating already written time periods has been added to manage the write and edit access to existing time periods. Features in upcoming versions of ibaAnalyzer or ibaDatCoordinator will benefit from this administration option.
- With this version, the ibaHD-Server aligns the start of raw data acquisition to time base intervals. Post-processing of data calculations will become more reliable by aligning the data at the sample level. Analysis results of data from different HD time stores or different ibaHD-Servers will return more precise results.
- ibaHD-API:
Requests for aggregated non-equidistant digital signals contain the edge count of changes and initial value for the aggregated data. This information helps to classify the aggregated digital value.
'IsData' property is added for all option field types (info field) to indicate whether a value is ‘0.0’ or no data is present for the requested data range. This case cannot be distinguished in earlier versions. Find more info about it at www.grpc.io - HTML Help is included and can be accessed directly from ibaHD-Manager.
- ibaHD-Server supports the ibaPDA feature ‘unit system’. The unit system feature in ibaPDA allows the switch of signals assigned in metric unit to be displayed in imperial unit. Details about the configuration can be found in the ibaPDA documentation.
Important Improvements
- When the server starts, ibaHD-Server checks and runs a cleanup for all stores contained. Files or segments that cannot be assigned are moved to the ‘UNKNOWN_DATA’ folder. You will find the folder in the corresponding directory of the file system. The cleanup time for the segment files in the ‘UNKNOWN_DATA’ folder is extended to 28 days.
You can set ibaHD-Server to send an email when data has been moved to the directory. More information can be found in the ibaHD-Server manual. - Time periods from attached and mounted backups of time based stores can now be accessed as online time periods by ibaPDA Client or ibaAnalyzer.
- ibaHD-OPC-UA: it is possible to use Active Directory users and groups for authentication.
Bugfixes
- ibaHD store configuration: if an error occurred while removing a store, no error message was displayed. A deleted store will be still available, and data could also be written into this store by the ibaPDA.
- If the ibaHD-API requested time range of a ‘GetAggregatedChannelData’ request contains a gap in the data, the response could contain incorrect samples.
- To avoid performance and memory issues during inserting non-equidistant data points with an external time stamp, the ibaHD-Server accepts only time stamps newer than 2020-01-01. Data points with older timestamps will be ignored.
- The SNMP server shows always 0 day of time period stores usage. The SNMP client displayed incorrect expiring date for time period licenses.
- Differential backups would fail when the previous backup was empty. This could lead to a missing backup data.
- During the dat file import function of the ibaHD-Manager, in the selection table of the dat files, only the date is shown, but not time for last modification, start time or end time.
IMPORTANT: Time Period Data Structure has been changed
The time period data structure has been changed and expanded internally. When the HD-Server is started for the first time after installation, a backup copy of the existing time periods is automatically created before the migration to the new structure is applied to the data schema.
The change of the time period data structure is prohibiting an easy downgrade of ibaHD-Server to an previous version. A manual change is required to get to the previous status of the time period data. Please contact your local iba support if you wish to downgrade to a previous version of ibaHD Server.
