Foundation of the ingenieurbuero anhaus GmbH
Horst and Marta Anhaus founded the predecessor of today’s iba AG in their own living room as an automation company for rolling mills. While Horst took care of the electronics and technological solutions, Marta, as a computer scientist, took care of the programming.
Purchase of the iba Office Van
Shortly after the company was founded, the founding couple made their first major investment: the iba office van, a VW T3 Dehler. This served the new entrepreneurs as an advantageous alternative to a hotel during commissioning.
Projects With Renowned Clients
Thanks to its good connections to Siemens, the newly founded engineering company attracts major clients: the founding couple makes a name for themselves with their diligence and technical sophistication in projects at Thyssen and Buderus.
Move to Gluckstrasse
The company grows from two to four employees and moves out of the living room office into a semi-detached house on Gluckstrasse in Fuerth, half of which is used as a home and half as an office.
Development of the PADU32
In order to be able to show in the projects that everything works as intended, the founding couple Anhaus use their own measurement system. However, the available hardware soon became insufficient for large rolling mills – and so the PADU32 (Paralleler Analog-Digital-Umsetzer / Parallel Analog Digital Converter) is the first purely iba development.
Start of the Measurement Technology Product Business
Measurement technology has long since attracted the attention of rolling mill operators, and demand on the world market continues to grow. Soon there was little time left for automation projects, and the engineering company began to focus more and more on the product business.
Milestone Request Technology
Acquiring data from automation devices always involves reprogramming and interrupting the program. With request technology, the engineering company has reached a milestone: for the first time, relevant values can be requested from the measurement system without interrupting the production process.
ibaPDA and ibaAnalyzer
The ibaPDA data acquisition software, which is now the central component of the iba System, is launched on the market and is used by plant operators and equipment suppliers worldwide. ibaAnalyzer, the powerful and free core of iba data analysis, is also released.
Move to Koenigswarterstrasse
The office building on Gluckstrasse was bursting at the seams. With the purchase of an office building on Koenigswarterstrasse, the situation has eased. At least for the time being. However, due to the constant growth, the plan to rent out some of the floors will not come to fruition.
The ingenieurbuero Becomes iba AG
With around 25 employees, ingenieurbuero anhaus GmbH becomes today’s iba AG. In addition, the first iba‑Tag (iba Day) is held on the occasion of the company’s 20th anniversary.
Dr. Ulrich Lettau Becomes CEO
It is the end of an era: After a long search for a suitable successor, Dr. Ulrich Lettau takes over as CEO of iba AG. Founder Horst Anhaus will initially be CVO – and will retire from the active business of his company to the Supervisory Board in 2011.
International Market Expansion
With its partner companies iba Asia and iba LAT and its subsidiaries iba America and iba Benelux, iba AG has been present on the global market since the mid-1990s. In 2010, further partnerships in South Africa, Oceania and Scandinavia were added, followed over the years by subsidiaries in Austria, Italy and Russia.
ibaCapture and ibaHD-Server
With ibaCapture, camera images and video recordings can be integrated into the iba System for the first time. In the same year, ibaHD-Server is released, which continuously stores historical data and makes it immediately available.
Move to Gebhardtstrasse 10
Growth needs space – which is why iba AG is celebrating its move into its new office complex at Gebhardtstrasse 10. The building is not only a milestone for the company, but also represents an important upgrading of the former freight station area for the city of Fuerth.
ibaDaVIS
With the online dashboard ibaDaVIS, visualizations and analyses can be displayed directly and clearly for several user groups in a web browser.
ibaMAQS Modular System
With the ibaMAQS modular system, iba has raised the bar in the field of measurement technology. This flexible system enables user-specific solutions and is both scalable and perfectly tuned for demanding tasks.
Topping Out Gebhardtstrasse 18
Meanwhile, GS10 has become too small, so GS18, an ultra-modern office building with more than 5,000 square meters of usable area, is being built next door.
40 Years of iba
With a special iba Day, the company is celebrating its 40th anniversary year.
Opening Gebhardtstraße 18
At the beginning of the year, the official opening of our new office complex takes place. With approximately 6,000 square meters of usable space, state-of-the-art equipment, and a spacious rooftop terrace, it offers room for around 160 colleagues.
With the move, our headquarters is relocated, shifting from Königswarterstraße to Gebhardtstraße.
