To be able to use quality data in continuous process lines on a product-related basis, it is necessary to record quality data on a lengthrelated basis. ibaQDR is based on the timebased acquired data at different measuring locations and assigns the measured values precisely to the length position of the product.

Quality data acquisition of today, is an essential part of the production process for every manufacturer of high-quality products.
The quality data recording system ibaQDR is smoothly integrated in ibaPDA as an add-on and offers transparent, high-resolution quality data recording with high ease of use, wide range of interfaces and efficient quality data management. A product (coil)-related analysis of quality data only makes sense, if the relevant measured values can be mapped exactly to the product. ibaQDR does this mapping based on the previous time-based acquired data in combination with accurate data of the material tracking. The initially acquired (time-based) data are mapped exactly to the product at the point where they have been measured.

Please note: As ibaQDR works in close relation to the segment mapping of the automation, a detailed knowledge of the functioning of the automation is required for the configuration.
Therefore we recommend the integration of the system through a qualified supplier or together with support services (consulting, training, support).
In continuous processes such as rolling mills or strip processing lines, quality data must be assigned precisely to the corresponding product position. ibaQDR combines time-based measurement data with material tracking signals to correlate every measurement value with the exact product length position. Material elongation, shrinkage, and intermediate cuts are automatically compensated. This creates fully traceable coil- or strip-specific quality datasets.
Without a consistent length reference, measurement data from different process stages cannot be compared reliably. ibaQDR automatically normalizes all quality data to the final product length and synchronizes signals from multiple measurement locations onto a common reference. This enables precise correlation between entry and exit measurements. As a result, fault localization and cross-process quality analysis become significantly more accurate.
In complex production lines, quality-relevant data is generated at multiple measurement locations and different times. ibaQDR synchronizes this time-based data using material tracking and maps it onto the final product geometry. All signals are stored consistently in coil-related files for combined analysis. This enables continuous quality evaluation across the entire production process.
By assigning every measurement value to its exact product position, quality deviations can be localized precisely. ibaQDR correlates process parameters such as rolling forces, coating thicknesses, or strip tensions directly with specific coil sections. This allows engineers to identify root causes faster and relate them to concrete process conditions. The approach is especially valuable for analyzing sporadic or locally limited quality defects.
With ibaQDR, high-resolution quality data can be stored and evaluated on a coil- or strip-specific basis. The length-consistent dataset enables standardized quality reports with complete traceability of all relevant production parameters. Manufacturers can therefore provide transparent documentation for audits and customer quality records. At the same time, the structured data foundation supports long-term process optimization initiatives.
