ibaDatawyzer-ICC (Inline Coil tracking Certifier) is an application for the metal-producing industry that is used for identifying coils by means of characteristic geometrical properties which have been acquired and recorded with ibaPDA. As the identification is made by means of these inherent properties, ibaDatawyzer-ICC can help detecting and rectifying errors and weaknesses of logistical material tracking systems.

Coils can be uniquely identified using characteristic geometric properties such as thickness and width profiles. ibaDatawyzer-ICC uses high-resolution measurement data from the iba system to generate an individual length-based profile for each coil—similar to a fingerprint.
These profiles remain consistent across multiple process stages and enable reliable identification even after transport, intermediate storage, or recoiling operations.

By comparing current coil profiles with previously recorded reference profiles, tracking errors can be detected automatically. ibaDatawyzer-ICC calculates a match counter that evaluates the degree of similarity between two profiles.
Low matching values indicate mix-ups, incorrect material assignments, or issues in logistics tracking systems at an early stage, supporting a reliable production chain.

During processing, coils may change due to stretching, compression, or trimming. ibaDatawyzer-ICC automatically compensates for these effects and synchronizes profiles from different process stages.
This ensures accurate coil comparisons even when material lengths or reference points change throughout the process.

By comparing length-related thickness profiles, ibaDatawyzer-ICC automatically detects head and tail cuts as well as changes in coil length. This determination is performed with high precision and supports accurate documentation of usable material length.
These insights improve production reporting, yield calculations, and traceability throughout the entire production chain.

Reliable traceability is achieved through the combination of high-resolution data acquisition and automated profile analysis. ibaDatawyzer-ICC enables verification and validation of material movements and coil assignments across multiple plants.
