Process and energy data together and at a glance: With the iba system, you can monitor energy networks in accordance with regulations and detect faults at an early stage. Critical cases in particular can be analyzed – and thanks to the architecture of the iba system you also see what happened both before and after an event.

The iba system enables the monitoring of energy grids in accordance with standards and the early detection of faults. This allows faults to be detected and rectified quickly before they jeopardize grid stability. Precise analysis and comprehensive data acquisition optimize processes, reduce downtimes and sustainably improve grid quality

We use the iba system to record current, voltage, power, and control values with high accuracy and resolution. This data becomes valuable in the event of a fault—and is also used for future grid calculations.

Request a ibaPDA-Demo LicenseThe iba system enables high-resolution, time-synchronous acquisition of current, voltage, power, and process data. ibaPQU-S supports power quality monitoring according to EN 50160 Class A and continuously records relevant grid parameters. In addition, ibaPDA can integrate control and process data from various automation systems. This creates a complete view of both grid and plant conditions.
Short-term grid events and transients are often not captured sufficiently by conventional control systems. With ibaPDA and ibaPQU-S, the iba system enables high-speed recordings of up to 500 kHz, allowing even very fast events to be analyzed precisely. Continuous recording ensures visibility into what happened immediately before, during, and after a disturbance. This improves root cause analysis and accelerates troubleshooting.
Reliable grid diagnostics require communication events and process data to be evaluated together. With ibaPDA, IEC 61850 events can be recorded synchronously with measurement data from protection systems, controllers, and power grids. This makes temporal relationships between switching operations, communication events, and grid reactions fully transparent. As a result, complex disturbance scenarios can be analyzed much more efficiently.
Grid issues are often caused by interactions between power supply systems and production processes. The iba system combines energy data with process and control signals using a common time base. With ibaAnalyzer, load changes, voltage dips, or frequency deviations can be correlated directly with process conditions. This enables early detection of critical operating states and supports targeted measures to stabilize the grid.
Long-term availability of measurement data is essential for grid calculations, fault analysis, and optimization strategies. With ibaHD-Server, high-resolution energy and process data can be archived centrally and stored over extended periods. ibaAnalyzer enables detailed trend analysis and comparison of historical events and operating conditions. This creates a reliable data foundation for future grid planning and stability assessments.
