This enables users to monitor CAN-bus communication directly and capture all CAN-based signals exchanged between CAN participants using ibaPDA. The solution serves as the successor to the previous ibaBM-CAN device.
Using the EtherCAN CI-ARM9/RMD-IBA gateway from EMS Thomas Wünsche, CAN signals can now be acquired seamlessly in ibaPDA and combined with process and plant data. The result is a consistent, end-to-end data foundation that enables detailed analysis and process optimization, now also for CAN signals. This significantly extends the application scope of ibaPDA, making it suitable for analyzing processes in which communication is performed via the CAN bus.
In addition to the new CAN integration, ibaPDA v8.12.0 provides several practical enhancements. For example, the ability to assign alias names to servers helps users better identify individual systems within complex system landscapes.
