Freight ports are the most important transhipment centres in the world. In Antwerp alone, approximately 10 million containers are loaded and unloaded annually, with the number of freight containers increasing by almost 22 percent in the last 10 years. Even minor optimizations lead to enormous increases in efficiency due to the numerous loading and unloading processes.
The aim of the project is to save millions of valuable seconds by optimising the lifting paths of the containers and minimising hours of crane downtime. Furthermore, potential sources of damage – which seriously threaten the integrity of man and machine – are rendered harmless. Those responsible therefore rely on a comprehensive data acquisition system. This makes it possible to continuously record all incoming signals and then evaluate them. This allows the port operator to keep an eye on all signals throughout. As a result, loading processes are optimized, false alarm sources are detected and rendered harmless, and crane operators are supported in a target-oriented and discreet manner at every lift.

Using any combination of the many standard interfaces which are supported within ibaPDA, all relevant signals are continuously captured. The signals are then visualized and monitored in real-time. Next, all signals are recorded in the ibaHD-Server historian. Finally, the data can be transformed into meaningful quality data with ibaAnalyzer to create long-term analyses. Reports with corresponding verification information can be automatically created for documentation purposes.
